Your Journey

What to Expect

Before

Free Consultation

Your journey starts with a complimentary consultation — either on the same day as treatment or at a separate appointment. Mr Chalhoub will assess your facial anatomy, discuss which areas would benefit, and explain exactly what to expect. There is no pressure to proceed on the day.

Day of Treatment

The Procedure

Treatment takes 10–20 minutes depending on the areas being treated. We use TSK invisible needles — ultra-fine needles designed for maximum comfort. Most patients describe the sensation as a brief, mild pinch. No anaesthetic is needed. You can drive and return to work immediately afterwards.

Days 1–3

Initial Period

You may notice small bumps at the injection sites which resolve within an hour. Mild redness or pinpoint bruising is possible but uncommon. There is no visible "downtime." Most people return to their day without anyone knowing they've had treatment.

Days 3–7

Results Begin

The Botox begins to take effect. You'll notice the treated muscles starting to relax and lines beginning to soften. Movement will feel subtly different as the product integrates. This is the exciting part — watching the transformation happen naturally.

Day 14

Full Results & Follow-Up

The full effect is visible at around fourteen days. This is exactly why we schedule your complimentary follow-up at this point — so we can assess the results together, check symmetry, and make any small top-up adjustments if needed. This appointment is always included at no extra cost.

Months 3–4

Maintenance

Botox typically lasts 3–4 months. Over time, with regular treatments, many patients find results last progressively longer as the muscles become trained to relax. Most of our patients come in 3–4 times per year to maintain their results.

In Detail

About Each Treatment

Everything you need to know about our most popular Botox treatments.

Masseter Botox

Jaw Slimming & Bruxism Relief

The masseter is one of the strongest muscles in the body. When overactive — from teeth grinding, jaw clenching, or simply genetics — it can create a wide, square jawline that many patients feel is overly masculine or heavy.

Botox into the masseters gradually reduces the muscle bulk over 4–6 weeks. The jawline becomes slimmer and more contoured, creating a natural V-shape. For bruxism patients, the reduction in muscle force means less grinding, fewer headaches, and better sleep.

This treatment requires higher doses than standard facial Botox (typically 30–50 units per side). Results last 4–6 months, with many patients finding they need treatment less frequently over time as the muscle atrophies with repeated treatment.

Traptox

Shoulder Slimming & Tension Relief

Traptox — Botox into the trapezius muscles — has become one of the most sought-after advanced treatments. The trapezius runs from the base of the skull across the shoulders, and when overdeveloped or chronically tense, it creates a bulky, stressed appearance.

Treatment slims the shoulder-to-neck area, creating a more elongated, elegant silhouette. But the benefits are more than aesthetic: patients report significant relief from chronic neck and shoulder tension, fewer tension headaches, and improved posture.

Higher doses are required (typically 50–100 units per side). Full aesthetic results take 6–8 weeks as the muscle gradually reduces. Results last 4–6 months. Many patients describe this as one of the most impactful treatments they've ever had.

Nefertiti Neck Lift

Non-Surgical Neck & Jawline Rejuvenation

Named after the ancient Egyptian queen famed for her elegant, sculpted neckline. The Nefertiti Lift uses Botox along the platysma muscle — a broad, thin muscle that runs from the chest up through the neck and jaw.

As we age, the platysma pulls the lower face downward, contributing to jowling, a less defined jawline, and visible neck bands. By relaxing this downward pull, the jawline appears sharper and the neck smoother.

Treatment involves multiple small injections along the jawline and into the vertical platysmal bands. Results appear over 1–2 weeks. Often combined with upper face Botox for comprehensive facial rejuvenation. This is a non-surgical alternative for patients not ready for a surgical neck lift.

Bunny Lines

Nose Crease Smoothing

Bunny lines are the diagonal wrinkles that appear on the sides of your nose when you scrunch it — named because they resemble a rabbit's nose twitch. They're caused by contraction of the nasalis muscle.

These lines often become more noticeable after patients have had their frown lines treated, as the surrounding muscles start compensating for the relaxed glabellar complex. A few precise units of Botox smooths these creases without affecting natural nasal function.

This is one of our quickest treatments — taking under 5 minutes — and is most commonly added onto a standard upper face treatment. A small amount of product creates a refined, polished result that completes the upper face.

Lip Flip

Subtle Upper Lip Enhancement

The Botox lip flip is an alternative to lip filler for patients who want a subtle enhancement. Small doses are placed into the orbicularis oris muscle above the upper lip, causing it to relax and gently roll outward.

The result is more visible lip vermillion — the pink part of your lip — without adding any volume. It creates the appearance of a slightly fuller, more defined upper lip. Ideal for patients who feel their upper lip "disappears" when smiling.

Results last around 6–8 weeks (shorter than standard Botox as this is a very active muscle group). A wonderful standalone treatment or complement to small amounts of lip filler for patients wanting a natural look.

Gummy Smile

Balanced, Natural Smile Correction

A gummy smile — where excessive gum tissue is visible when smiling — is caused by overactivity of the levator labii superioris muscle. This muscle lifts the upper lip too high, exposing more of the gum line than desired.

A few precise units of Botox into this muscle gently limits how high the lip rises when smiling. The result is a more balanced, proportionate smile that still looks completely natural and expressive.

This is one of our quickest treatments, taking under 5 minutes. Results appear within a week and typically last 3–4 months. It's a subtle but impactful change that many patients wish they'd had done sooner.

Common Questions

Botox FAQ

Most patients describe the sensation as a brief, mild pinch — nothing more. We use TSK invisible needles which are ultra-fine and designed specifically for facial injections. The entire treatment takes 10–20 minutes. No anaesthetic is required, though we can apply a numbing cream if you'd prefer. Most patients are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the experience is.

Not with the right practitioner. At Xavier On The Hill, we take a conservative, "less is more" approach. The goal is to soften lines while preserving your natural expressions. You should still be able to raise your brows, smile naturally, and look like yourself — just a refreshed version. We'd rather you come back for a small top-up at your 2-week follow-up than overtreat on the first visit.

Standard facial Botox typically lasts 3–4 months. Masseter and traptox treatments can last 4–6 months. Hyperhidrosis treatment often lasts 6–9 months. Over time with regular treatments, many patients find their results last longer as the muscles become trained to relax. Most patients visit 3–4 times per year for facial Botox maintenance.

We exclusively use Allergan Botox® — the original and most widely researched botulinum toxin product in the world. Other brands include Azzalure (Dysport), Bocouture (Xeomin), and newer options like Letybo. While these are all licensed products, Allergan Botox has the longest track record, the most clinical data, and in our experience, the most consistent and predictable results. When you see significantly cheaper prices, it's worth asking which product is being used.

No. Botox is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. While there is no evidence that Botox causes harm, there is insufficient safety data, and we will not administer treatment to pregnant or breastfeeding patients. We recommend waiting until you have finished breastfeeding before scheduling your treatment.

There's no single "right" age. Some patients in their mid-20s start with preventative Botox to slow line formation, while others don't begin until their 40s or 50s. The best time to start is when you notice lines at rest — meaning lines that remain visible even when your face is completely relaxed. During your consultation, Mr Chalhoub will give you an honest assessment of whether treatment would benefit you at this stage.

Botox is one of the most well-researched cosmetic treatments in the world. Common side effects are mild and temporary: slight redness, pinpoint bruising, or a mild headache on the day of treatment. Rare side effects include temporary eyelid drooping (ptosis), which occurs in less than 1% of cases and resolves as the product wears off. Serious side effects are extremely rare. All risks will be discussed thoroughly during your consultation.

Absolutely. Botox works beautifully alongside other treatments. Common combinations include Botox with dermal fillers (for both line relaxation and volume restoration), Botox with Profhilo (for wrinkle reduction plus skin quality improvement), and Botox with PRP therapy (for rejuvenation on multiple levels). During your consultation, we'll discuss whether a combination approach would be beneficial for your specific goals.

Nothing harmful. Your muscles will gradually return to their full activity over 3–4 months. The lines that were present before treatment will return to their previous state. You will not look worse than you did before — there is no "rebound" effect. However, if you've been having regular treatments, the muscles may have partially atrophied, meaning your lines could take some time to return to their previous depth.

This varies by area and individual. Typical ranges: forehead 10–20 units, frown lines 15–25 units, crow's feet 8–15 units per side. Masseter requires 30–50 units per side, and traptox 50–100 units per side. Your practitioner will assess your specific anatomy and muscle strength during the consultation. At Xavier On The Hill, we charge per area rather than per unit, so there are no surprises.

Botox has been used medically since the 1980s and cosmetically since the early 2000s. It is one of the most thoroughly studied cosmetic procedures in the world, with an excellent safety profile when administered by a qualified practitioner. The key to safety is the practitioner's knowledge of facial anatomy and proper dosing — which is why choosing a medically trained injector matters. Mr Chalhoub's surgical background provides a deep understanding of the anatomy beneath the skin.

For 24 hours before treatment, avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil supplements) as these can increase the chance of bruising. Arrive with a clean face — no makeup on the areas to be treated. If you're taking any prescribed blood thinners, do not stop these without speaking to your GP first; let us know and we'll advise you.

Results begin to appear within 2–5 days, with the full effect visible at around 14 days. This is why your complimentary follow-up is scheduled at the 2-week mark. Some patients notice subtle changes within 48 hours, while others don't see significant change until day 7–10. Everyone responds slightly differently, and patience during this settling period is important.

Of course. An increasing number of our patients are men. Male facial muscles tend to be stronger, so slightly higher doses may be needed to achieve the desired result. The approach for male patients focuses on maintaining a strong, masculine appearance while softening lines — the goal is never to feminise the face. Many of our male patients come to us because they want to look less tired or less stressed, without anyone knowing they've had anything done.
